I changed things up a bit in terms of previewing the last football opponent in South Florida. We’ll have some preview things go up this week and some of the normal stuff next week.

The big news over the weekend was that Kansas essentially lost twice over the past 7 days or so, losing to Washington last week (not sure when) and then lost to Arizona State yesterday, at home.
Texas Tech Football
It’s not always easy to be above the noise.
Congrats to @baker_mayfield6 on an incredible season, bringing the @HeismanTrophy back to the Big 12. pic.twitter.com/rpK56DIOsH

The big news over the weekend wasn’t Texas Tech related, but Texas hired Chris DelConte as the new Longhorn athletic director. This probably means that Texas will be very competent in their athletic department moving forward. I have a ton of respect for DelConte and he’s done a ton for TCU athletics.
Miscellaneous . . . Heartland College Sports’ Pete Mundo ranks the Big 12 bowl games and has Texas Tech’s bowl game with South Florida 7th out of 8 . . . via LandGrant Gauntlet’s Patrick Mayhorn, 2018 TCU commit Ta’Zhawn Henry decommitted, which means that TCU is looking for another running back, enter possibly Garland LaFrance, the Texas Tech commit, however Mayhorn writes that other names that they may be looking at are Tony St. Julian and Fabian Franklin, a Mississippi State commit . . . A-J Media’s Michael LaBarre recaps what the current Texas Tech commits did in the high school playoffs . . . in other recruiting news, but not enough to create a separate post, I think Charles Cameron, the defensive tackle, will end up choosing Florida Atlantic . . .
