The details of the arrest report obtained by the Lubbock Avalanche Journal’s Lucinda Holt show that an unnamed Texas Tech football player (and perhaps others) were involved in a bar fight at Bash Riprock’s on early Saturday morning:
The police report states the suspect began speaking to a man, who was unable to hear him due to the volume of the music in the business.
After several attempts, the suspect allegedly became angry about the man being unable to hear him, and reportedly grabbed the man by the shirt, shoving him outside the business and into the road in the 2400 block of Broadway.
Once in the street, several other people, including the victim’s girlfriend, followed and the suspect and his friends began assaulting the victim, knocking him to the ground repeatedly punching him in the head.
“(The victim) ultimately was knocked out from being assaulted,” the reporting officer noted.
The report notes that the player has not been named because no crime has been charged at this time.
There were three other victims involved, including a female. The report notes that victims did not report the alleged assault because three of the four victims are under the age of 21 and all four had been drinking.
