The Chiefs on Thursday signed their first-round draft pick, quarterback Patrick Mahomes II.
A source with knowledge of the situation said the four-year rookie contract is worth $16.4 million, with a $10 million signing bonus and a fifth-year option.
In addition to Mahomes’ big pay day, which we give a hearty congratulations, is that Mahomes has already said that he wants to set up scholarships at Texas Tech:
Mahomes is also interested in starting a charity for underprivileged kids in KC and set up scholarships at Texas Tech and his old HS.

I think that there are some endowed scholarships, but it would be very cool if Mahomes did decide to do something like that and truthfully, any amount for Texas Tech University is something that they’d accept graciously.
