Texas Tech Baseball
The Big 12 announced the All-Big 12 teams and awards yesterday and Texas Tech cleaned up. Hunter Hargrove was named Co-Player of the Year, Steven Gingery was named the Pitcher of the Year and Josh Jung was named the Freshman of the Year. Orlando Garcia, Hargrove, Cody Farhat and Gingery were named as the All-Big 12 First Team and Jung was named to the second team, while Parker Mushinki was named honorable mention. Jung and Michael Berglund and Grant Little were named to the All-Freshman Team.
D1Baseball projects the field of 64 and has Lubbock as the #3 national seed and has Texas Tech along with Nebraska, Texas A&M and Bryant.
Texas Tech Football
Very cool award for Talor Nunez who is set to receive the McAuley Distinguished Student Award.
AthlonSports released their All-Big 12 teams and it’s not looking very good for Texas Tech as the only first team player was K Clayton Hatfield, IR Keke Coutee was the only second team player, LB Jordyn Brooks was the only third team player and WR Dylan Cantrell, S Jah’Shawn Johnson and KR Cameron Batson were the fourth team players. There’s a chart at the end and I think that this may be the fewest number of players that are named, along with Kansas. If you ever wanted a season where the team has almost zero respect in terms of players who are returning and might be able to play, this might very well be it.
