Baseball
Sweep. Heck yes. You can catch up on all three games, including highlights at our weekend thread. Texas Tech won 2-1 on Friday and Saturday and won 8-5 on Sunday, including a 3 inning save by Dylan Dusek and John McMillon, normally a relief pitcher, going 2 for 5 including a home run. It was a terrific series for Texas Tech. The bullpen was on point for each game and the starting pitching was pretty terrific on Friday and Saturday. The offense really didn’t get things going until Sunday, but Texas has some pretty good pitchers too.
Basketball
This isn’t Texas Tech news, but Oklahoma State head coach Brad Underwood only stayed in Stillwater for a year as he bolted for Illinois on Saturday, nearly tripling his salary. You can read up on the Oklahoma State perspective from Pistols Firing. You wonder how this is going to affect the program, most likely it’s not a good thing and there’s talk again about how Doug Gottlieb would be the likely choice. There’s also a lot of criticism of the athletic director for not paying Underwood more, but increasing his salary from $1 million to $3 million is awfully steep.
Football
Cool. It’s a best of three format. Offense vs. defense and starts in one week inΒ Midland, then Frisco, and ending in Lubbock under the lights.
