Texas Tech won their series with UTSA this weekend, going 2-1 and truthfully, Texas Tech was within 1 out of sweeping the series. Every game is updated at that link, complete with highlights from each game. The Red Raiders travel to Austin this weekend to take on the Longhorns with a midweek game against UT-Arlington.

Texas Tech didn’t make the NIT and obviously didn’t make the NCAA Tournament. The NIT was a possibility, but Dan never thought that Texas Tech really had much of a chance. Disappointing for sure, but perhaps this makes them all that much more hungry for next year.


ESPN’s Max Olson profiles Texas Tech’s seventh year offensive linemen Tony Morales:

The Red Raiders’ 23-year-old offensive lineman has now been listed as a senior on the team’s roster for three consecutive years. The fact he’s still on that roster is a testament to his dedication after a brutal four-season setback.

β€œIt’s been stressful. It’s not an easy thing to do,” Morales said. β€œA lot of people would’ve taken a medical [hardship]. But the way I look at it is, as long as I have eligibility, why not try? It’s a blessing to play college football. As long as I had eligibility, I was always going to try.”
