The Lady Raiders (11-6, 3-3 Big12) take on the Texas Longhorns (13-4, 7-0 Big12) on Saturday, January 21, 2017. This will be the 98th meeting between these two teams. Texas Tech played the Longhorns in the first conference game of the season in Austin, TX and lost 67-47. They will have to play one of their best games to beat UT tonight. The Lady Raiders will have to play aggressively and control the flow of the game. The Longhorns are 4th in the country in out-rebounding their opponents. Texas Tech will have to fight to get the rebounds and get in the paint. The Lady Raiders have gained a lot of experience and confidence since the last meeting on Dec 29th and they have Guirantes back from her sprained ankle and have a healthy squad. I am hoping with a home court advantage and the improvements we have seen in this squad the last few weeks that they come away with the win tonight.
