The LAJ (not sure as to the author) writes about attenendance and about how difficult it can be to play in Lubbok when people are present. the average right now is 7,397.3 and is the highest amount since 2012:

“We had a lot of interest (for season tickets),” Giovannetti said. “I think with coach Beard coming and the team coming off the NCAA appearance last year played a part of it. … Coach Beard is one of these guys with small school roots that has ingrained into him that every season ticket holder is important. There’s no doubt his return helped increase not only season ticket holders but attendance overall.”

Another article from the LAJ about the rest of the Big 12 as the Big 12 heads into conference play:

The Bears exceeded low expectations — with wins over top-25 foes in Oregon, Michigan State, Louisville and Xavier — while the Longhorns struggled to handle high expectations — with losses to Northwestern and UT Arlington.

While Kansas continues to do what Kansas always does, win, and West Virginia continues to press the life out of their opponents en route to Bob Huggins’s 800th win, the teams picked to finish in the bottom half of the league have worked their way up.

Sophomore point guard Jawun Evans is propelling Oklahoma State to a 10-2 start, including a huge win over Wichita State by double figures.

New head coach Jamie Dixon at TCU has the Horned Frogs off to a fantastic start with wins over UNLV and Washington.
