The offseason brings lots of changes on and off the field. As for me, it brought something very special: we are expecting a baby girl in December! It’s a very exciting time for us, and I’m about to know first-hand what it will mean to be a dad. I already have the dad-jokes built in, the wardrobe isn’t far off, and the dad-bod is coming along nicely. This fall is about to fly by.

Now, let’s see what else has been changing around Lubbock since we last kicked off a football season…

Changes to Existing Places

Italian Garden has moved from its original location on 13th St to 1215 Avenue J and will eventually open Mexican Garden in its old location.

Evie Mae’s is up and running in their brand-new building in Wolfforth at the southwest corner of HWY 62 and FM 179. They are still only open Thur-Sat, but have expanded their hours to 11am-6pm.

The empty Jack-in-the-Box building at 98th and Slide is now a Starbuck’s.

Dion’s has moved from its location near TTU campus to 82nd and Milwaukee. The Dion’s west of 82nd and University is still open.

The Library had their grand reopening earlier this month. KFMX has an article (I hate the headline) on the new owners and how they will be catering more to whiskey and bourbon fans. I think I read somewhere about a SkeeBall league they will host. That’s a thing??
