Texas Tech Gives Tim Tadlock Yet Another Contract Extension

LAJ’s Don Williams has all of the details as Texas Tech an head baseball coach Tim Tadlock have extended and increased the contract that Tadlock signed just mere months ago.

Acccording the Williams, Tadlock signed a 6-year $2.375 million contract in may and now, Tadlock is signed through 2022 an will make $4.2 million, $700,00 per season. The buyouts have been increased and Texas Tech has a right to file an injunction to not permit Tadlock to go to a Big 12 opponent. Here’s athletic director Kirby Hocutt:

“(Texas athletic director) Mike Perrin reached out and we had one conversation about coach Tadlock and his contract here,” Tech athletic director Kirby Hocutt said this week. “Did Texas ever have any formal conversations with coach Tadlock? I don’t know, but I would say that there’s nobody else who’s going to coach the baseball team for us as long as I can have influence on that decision.”

There’s more quotes there from Hocutt, but this one is the best and speaks to Hocutt’s desire to keep Tadlock here at Texas Tech as long as he possibly can. That’s great news.
