A hearty congratulations to former Texas Tech footballer Zach Thomas, who will be inducted into the Texas Tech Ring of Honor before the October 22nd game against Oklahoma. Texas Tech athletic director Kirby Hocutt said that Thomas is one of the best there ever was:
“Zach Thomas remains one of, if not the best, linebackers in Texas Tech history,” Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt said. “As I’ve said before, induction into the Ring of Honor is reserved for the best of the best and Zach’s accomplishments are certainly worthy of induction.”
On that note, bet you can’t guess today’s #TBT… #WreckEmhttps://t.co/xaqGyu1CAa

And Thomas, of course, gives praise to his coaches and teammates that helped him to be the player he was for Texas Tech:
“This is a tremendous honor for me and my family.” Thomas said. “Texas Tech paved the way for me to be successful not only in college but in the NFL as well so I cannot thank our university enough. I’m proud to be associated with the likes of Donny Anderson, E.J. Holub, Dave Parks and Gabe Rivera. To be mentioned in the same sentence with those Texas Tech legends is truly an honor.
“I can’t wait to bring my son into Jones AT&T Stadium and have him see my name displayed on the stadium wall. That will be a memory I’ll cherish forever. I’d like to point out that my name is being recognized because of the teammates and coaches I was fortunate to play alongside. This may be an individual honor but football is a team game, and I would have never achieved many of the accomplishments in my career without my teammates and coaches.”
The other members of the Ring of Honor are Donny Anderson, E.J. Holub, Dave Parks, and Gabe Rivera.
