Behind a sterling pitching performance from Martin Davis and a two-run home run by Eric Gutierrez, Texas Tech defeated the #1 Florida Gators. Texas Tech would add an insurance run in the 9th inning to lead 3-0, which was incredibly necessary as Florida hit a two-run bomb in the bottom of the 9th inning. Texas Tech would win the game as Tyler Neslony threw out a runner who was gunning for 2nd base with 2 out in the 9th inning.
