Texas Tech quarterback Davis Webb, who has been committed to Colorado since the spring, has spurned the Buffaloes for the Coach Sonny Dykes and the Cal Golden Bears, first reported by Adam Munsterteiger:

Have been able to confirm former Texas Tech QB Davis Webb will not be transferring to #CUBuffs like he originally planned. He is Cal bound.

Former Texas Tech coach Darrin Chiaverini, current Colorado coach, had nothing bad to say about Webb’s choice:

Colorado had a bunch of injury problems through the spring and there were rumblings about Webb looking elsewhere, the best spot for him. I think this is a better spot for Webb, and presumably, Webb will have a better shot at showing his capabilities as a quarterback for Cal. Good luck and Wreck’Em.
