Texas Tech Adds G Shadell Millinghaus to 2016 Class

This was certainly not on my radar as Chris Beard was hard at work and has added combo guard Shadell Millinghaus (6-2/200) to the 2016 class, joining Keon Clergeot and Niem Stevenson.

Millinghaus originally signed with Southern Mississippi coming out of high school and eventually transferred to Northwest Florida State College. Millinghaus averaged 16.9 ppg, 5.2 rpg and 2.0 apg, while shooting 47.5% from the field and 31.3% from the three-point line. Millinghaus did take 115 three-point attempts and it seems clear that Beard wants to add some outside scoring punch to a team that lost that in Toddrick Gotcher and Devaugntah Williams.

The other stat that stands out is that Millinghaus averaged 1.7 steals a game, which is really terrific and is probably the best indication that Millinghause is a two-way player, being able to bring pressure on defense as well as score. Millinghaus was named as an honorable mention All-American.

It’s tough finding recent videos of Millinghaus. You can go to his Twitter linked above or these are the most recent highlights I’ve seen:
