Baseball
13 Unanswered Runs. Texas Tech scored 13 unanswered runs and absolutely throttled the Longhorns, 13-5. Davis Martin had a bit of a rough start, but he still earned the win and battled back in a big was, as did the offense, led by Tanner Gardner and Tyler Neslony. Lots of highlights and lots of passion. Head on over to the series thread.

Tubby Has a Decision. CBS Sports’ Gary Parrish has a very interesting article about Tubby Smith and the situation he’s in at Memphis, where one of the assistant coaches there has two sons who are on the team and the team’s best players. If Smith replaces that assistant coach, those players leave. If Smith keeps him as an assistant coach, they stay, which means that Smith really doesn’t get to hire the staff that he wants to hire.
@GaryParrishCBS I don’t think Tubby had any idea what he was getting himself into when he took the Memphis job.

Team Photos. The official site has a photo gallery of the team taking some offseason photos in uniform at the indoor soccer complex (which is really nice).
Washington Compared to Giovani Bernard. Via the Chron’s Aaron Wilson writes about how DeAndre Washington compares favorably to Cincinnati Bengal RB Giovani Bernard, a smaller running back with a lot of production. Washington sees himself as the best overall back in the country:
“I’ve been big on marketing myself as the best all-around running back in this draft,” Washington said. “The film kind of speaks for itself. You never know where you might end up. I’ve heard anywhere from the middle to late rounds. I’d just be blessed to get the opportunity.”
