Swoopes!

Swoopes Inducted to the Basketball Hall of Fame! What a huge and incredible honor for Sheryl Swoopes for being inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. She changed women’s basketball like no one else. If her son, Jordan, could shoot half as good as her, he’d be all-conference.

One of the greatest, if not THE GREATEST, at Texas Tech:

Gutierrez Named Big 12 Player of the Week. Congrats to Eric Gutierrez who was named the Big 12 Player of the Week:

Gutierrez led all Big 12 players with a .500 average (9-for-18) over Tech’s five games last week against UNLV and K-State. He had at least one hit in all five games as he connected on three doubles and a home run while also driving in seven runs.

Gutierrez drove in five runs alone during the K-State series, four of which that came in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader that clinched the series. Gutierrez finished a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and three runs scored in that game as he drilled a RBI double in the second inning and followed with a three-run homer in the seventh.

Texas Tech Moves into Top 25. Both D1 Baseball and Baseball America now rank Texas Tech in the top 25, ranked No. 22 by D1 Baseball and No. 23 by Baseball America.
