Texas Tech Takes Down Kansas State. Texas Tech started off a bit cold on Saturday, but picked up steam before halftime and never looked back in securing their first .500 season in almost a decade. Keenan Evans and Devaugntah Williams combined for 40 points at 20 apiece.

“I’m really happy for our seniors, Toddrick Gotcher and Devaugntah Williams,” Texas Tech head coach Tubby Smith said. “Senior Day is an emotional day especially for Toddrick, being here as long as he has and what he’s gone through in helping to restore pride back to our program. I’m proud of Devaugntah Williams for making the commitment to come here and for stepping up coming off the bench and for starting today – I was really impressed.

She Said Yes! Toddrick Gotcher proposed to his girlfriend and cross-country athlete Kelly McQuaid at halfcourt after the game.

Bracketology Update. CBS Sports Jerry Palm has Tech seeded #8 in the West Bracket with their first game against Butler. Texas Tech has a tournament team! THIS IS A BIG DEAL!!

The Big 12 Tournament Starts on Wednesday. Texas Tech will open the tournament as a #7 seed against #10 TCU at 8pm on ESPNU.

Lady Raider Basketball

Lady Raiders Fall to No. 4 Baylor in Big 12 Quarterfinal. The Lady Raiders were unable to continue their hot hand from against Iowa State in a lopsided loss to Baylor.

“No question Baylor guards you, but I thought if you go back and look at the threes we got I thought for the most part they were pretty good looks and they were open,” Whitaker said. “They didn’t go. Did they not go because you’re more uptight because you’re playing Baylor? Possibly. But I thought our threes were pretty open.”

Softball

Softball Goes 1-1 on the Second Day of Play in the Texas Tech Invitational. After toppling McNeese State 11-6, the Red Raiders fall to Ohio 6-2.

Texas Tech faces Stephen F. Austin at 10am and UTSA at 12:30pm today to finish the tournament.

Baseball

No. 23 Texas Tech Evens Series With 6-5 Win Over No. 22 Fullerton. Texas Tech scored their go-ahead run in the 8th inning thanks to Tyler Floyd.

Floyd drove a 1-0 pitch to deep left field which easily scored pinch runner Zach Davis from second for the game-winning run. It was the second two-out RBI in the game for Floyd, who finished 2-for-3 overall with two RBI after adding a RBI single in the fourth inning.
