Texas Tech and head coach Kliff Kingsbury made it official as Kingsbury has hired DeShaun Foster as the running backs coach and Karl Scott to coach cornerbacks.
Foster was previously at UCLA where he was the director of player development and high school relations. Foster had a highly successful career at UCLA and in the NFL. Scott was previously at Louisiana Tech, where he coached safeties. Barring any sort of late defection, this completes Texas Tech’s new coaching staff.
“We are extremely excited to add Coach Scott and Coach Foster to our staff,” Kingsbury said. “They are both bright and energetic coaches and will be valuable additions to our program.”
The other new hires are as follows: Kevin Patrick at offensive defensive line (previously at North Texas), Joe Robinson coaching special teams (previously at South Carolina); and Emmett Jones to most likely coach receivers (previously the director of player development at Texas Tech). Rusty Whitt is the new strength and conditioning coach, previously at Louisiana-Lafayette.
