Lady Raider Basketball
Lady Raiders Take on Kansas State.
The Lady Raiders look to take on Kansas State today at 2:00 pm in Manhattan. The game will be televised on FOX College Sports.
“[Kansas State] will play up to six different defenses and that’s difficult to prepare for,” Texas Tech head coach Candi Whitaker said. “We will try to keep it simple on the offensive end, in an effort to not overload ourselves with playcalls. They are playing like they always do, with a lot of zone, they share the ball well and they have multiple people who can score.”
LAJ’s Nicholas Talbot previews the game:
With four games left before the Big 12 tournament the Lady Raiders are just trying to remain confident in what they can do.
“Like we have said before, we just have to put 40 minutes together from start to finish,” junior guard Ivonne CookTaylor said. “We obviously had a point where we didn’t score and convert but that can’t happen this game.”
Whitaker for her part is keeping her mantra constant.
“I don’t know what else to tell them except to keep playing hard, keep shooting the ball when you are open and with confidence,” she said. “Obviously in those stretches you want to get to the foul line and want to get it inside.
“We did that against K-State here but didn’t convert at the line.”
