Ed. Note: The black box next to a player is a full year of eligibility remaining and the grey box means that they had a redshirt available. For example, Breiden Fehoko played as a true freshman, but he still has a redshirt year available to him, much like Dylan Cantrell took this year.

Quarterbacks
My own personal preference is for Duffey to redshirt his freshman year. This is largely dependent on Shimonek shining this spring. It’s a huge opportunity for Shimonek and if I had to guess, head coach Kliff Kingsbury will do everything possible not to play Duffey this year.
The odd thing here is that Mahomes is already a junior, and had he not played his freshman campaign, he’d only be a redshirt sophmoore with three more years to potentially play. That’s hindsight and sometimes like to think about having these guys here forever, but if Shimonek can play, then Texas Tech is set up for quite some time at the quarterback position.
Running Backs
This is going to be the best position battle this spring, right? Who will get the load of the carries at running back and who will get some of those back-up carries. My own personal money is on Felton, to get the load, but I would be completely happy if Felton, Dauphine and Stockton all found their way for a third of the carries. They’re all just too talented to leave on the bench. And what a nice problem to have.
Fullbacks
It seems like Scalzi had most of the reps at fullback and would guess that this continues this year. I don’t know that I’ve seen Keane, but maybe we’ll get a glimpse in the spring.
