A report by The Advocate’s Scott Rabalais says that the LSU Tigers are most likely headed for the Texas Bowl, December 29th in Houston, although the TaxSlayer Bowl could still be in the mix for LSU:
The result of Saturday’s Southeastern Conference Championship Game did little to alter the likelihood that LSU will be heading down I-10 one way or another for its bowl game.
The Tigers are probably bound for the Texas Bowl, set for Dec. 29 in Houston, though there’s still a chance LSU may wind up in the TaxSlayer Bowl, Jan. 2 in Jacksonville, Florida.
TaxSlayer Bowl President/CEO Rick Catlett said he spoke this week to LSU athletic director Joe Alleva but didn’t discuss the nature of their conversation.
Almost every prediction has Texas Tech in the Texas Bowl, most of them along with LSU. These are the most recently updated bowl predictions.
- ESPN has Texas Tech vs. LSU, both Mark Schlaback and Brett McMurphy.
- DMN’s Kate Hairopoulos has Texas Tech at the Texas Bowl and Texas A&M at the Music City Bowl.
- Campus Insiders’ Pete Fiutak has Texas Tech in the Texas Bowl.
- USA Today’s Erick Smith is the lone person that’s still predicting a Texas Tech vs. TAMU match-up.
And don’t forget, Texas A&M’s famous-in-their-own-minds’ hashtag, #WRTS should probably be #WRAFTS — We Run Away From This State.
