Via Nola, Johnathan Picone is one of the linebacker commits for Texas Tech’s recruiting class and Picone posted his midseason senior highlights, which is actually pretty good, especially considering that most of his is junior highlights were of Picone playing all over the field. Picone was this hybrid player as a junior and from reviewing his senior season highlights, he appears to be at linebacker all of the time, which is what his position will be in college.
Picone is one of the top 50 players in Louisiana (I think it’s all of Louisiana, but could just be of New Orleans) at #45 and we recently touched on how Picone is attempting to recruit other Louisiana players to Texas Tech. Picone said that the decision for him was mainly about family and he’s done that with Texas Tech:
By getting his commitment out of the way so early – and being so solid to Texas Tech – Picone has been able to completely focus on Mandeville’s season and a push for a deep playoff run.
“I can completely just tune in to everything going on right now with my football team,” he said. “I know I have a future football team that’s going to take care of me – a future football family is really what it is.”
