Recruit of the Week. Scout’s Greg Powers has his recruiting notebook and says that Jack Anderson is the Midlands Recruit of the Week for Scout:
The Frisco (Texas) High standout seems to have a real knack for clearing out lanes and for that usually means a pancake block, and many of his highlight plays will show that. He moves really well and is able to get in position to have his way with defensive linemen. He plays tackle in high school, but will likely be a guard or center in college. His scheme is run based, but his pass protection is reliable when needed.

Denley spoke with Red Raider Sports’ Drew Kohnle about his commitment to Texas Tech and says that he’s solid to Texas Tech:
IN HIS WORDS: “It’s going great. I love the team, the coaching staff; it is a great team with great players. Things are just going really great. I’ve watched all their games this year and it is exciting to see that offense and the role I will be playing. I’ll get to do what I do and make plays and help the team get a win,” he said. “I’ll actually be down there this weekend for the Iowa State game. That is my only other visit I have set up at the moment. I heard from Oklahoma recently, but I am 100% to Texas Tech.”
Roshauud Paul’s Visit. Roshauud Paul is a receiver and dual threat quarterback (5-11/160) from Bremond and part of the 2017 class was at the game with the newest commit, Jack Anderson:

Latest Crystal Ball Predictions. Odessa Permian cornerback Desmon Smith (6-1/180) and South Oak Cliff defensive end Marvin Terry (6-1/216) are the two latest guys predicted to commit to Texas Tech. Lots of times, if you watch this stuff, something happens, whether it be a decommitment or a visit and then a handful of folks will change their status of where a player will commit. For Terry, it was something in September that caused the change and with Smith, it was his recent visit to Texas Tech.
Smeltzer Commits to Tadlock. LHP Devin Smeltzer, currently at San Jacinto C.C., has committed to Texas Tech. Depending on what you read, Smeltzer is one of the best left handed pitchers in the nation (profile via PerfectGame). He’s also got a great story as he’s already a cancer survivor.
