Hall of Fame Announcement. I think maybe starting at 11:10 this morning, you can Texas Tech’s Hall of Fame Announcement. Be forewarned that this link takes you directly to a video player and I don’t think the announcement will actually happen until 11:30 am.

32 Student Athletes on All-Big 12 Rookie Team. The official site notes that 32 student athletes made the All-Big 12 Rookie Team, which honors incoming freshmen. This doesn’t have the complete list, although that can be found here.Of those 32 players, 6 had 4.00 GPA’s:

A total of 38 student-athletes were nominated with 4.00 grade point averages, including six from Texas Tech: Cameron Batson (Football), Alex Buzelan (Tennis) and four athletes from track – Jacob Hinojos, Todd Mickey, Taylor Jameson and Kami Norton.

Game Time Set for Arkansas. The Arkansas game time is set as is the network, ESPN2 at 6:00 pm on September 19th.

Top Duo. ESPN’s Max Olson has his top duos on offense and on defense and Texas Tech players only make the offensive portion:

4. DeAndre Washington/Jakeem Grant, Texas Tech: Two of the Big 12’s most versatile and elusive weapons quietly teamed up for 2,404 yards of total offense in 2014. Washington is the conference’s top pass-catching back, and Grant is a menace downfield and in the screen game.

Longhorns AD Under Fire /100 fire emojis/. I posted this in the comments yesterday, but our favorite Longhorn writer, Chip Brown for Horns Digest has a full blast article on athletic director Steve Patterson. There are a couple of things to note here. First, this is just one side of the story, Brown’s side but it’s still one heck of a read. Second, Brown pretty much depends on the access that UT gives him, so he’s come out with a scathing report against the one guy that could limit that. And I should also mention that Patterson has a history of running organizations into the ground and he also isn’t above being incredibly petty when it comes to reporters. Most UT fans have laughed off the two other links from John Canzano, who says that Canzano just has an axe to grind, and maybe you could now say the same thing about Brown, but goodness, the evidence is starting to pile up for Patterson, isn’t it. Kirby Hocutt may not be perfect, but this isn’t how he runs an athletic department.
