Soares and Dojas are Doubles NCAA Championship Runner-Ups. What a ride by Felipe Soares and Hugo Dojas who lost to Texas doubles pair Loyd Glasspool and Soren Hess-Olsen, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 yesterday, and take home second overall. The official site lists them as runner-up NCAA Championships and I’m going with it. Head coach Tim Siegel wa proud of his two players:

“It’s so tough when you’re this close,” head coach Tim Siegel said. “But I am so proud of our guys. They had a great year: top 20 team, beat the No. 1 team in the nation (Oklahoma) as a team. These two guys, though, they will be seniors next year and they are really going to make Texas Tech proud. I’m already looking forward to it.”

Set for Match Play. Behind the strong performance of freshman Gabby Barker, who shot a 3-under par 69 yesterday, and the team made up 8 strokes of even par to tie Tennessee for 6th place overall, but actually is 7th overall due to tiebreakers and will face Duke today. Here’s head coach JoJo Robertson:

“What an unbelievable day,” head coach JoJo Robertson. “They had no doubt that they could come out here and shoot a number like this again today. I could not be more proud of these girls and all the hard work they put in. It’s incredible.”

Here are your pairings and the ladies tee off at 7:00 a.m.:

Football

Weekly Red Raiders. Wreck’Em 24/7’s Michael LaBarre has his weekly Red Raiders and he talked to Isaiahh Loudermilk, who plays 8 man football in Kanas and stands 6-6/250.

Davis Summer Camp. Former Red Raider footballer Cody Davis is holding his Student of the Game youth football camp in Stephenville on Saturday, June 27, at Stephenville High School. So, if you’re in the Stephenville area, make sure and check it out. Oh, and it is free.

DMN on Texas Secondaries. Via the DMN, they rank the secondaries and rank Texas Tech 4th overall, which I think is pretty fair and think that Baylor and Texas Tech’s secondaries are pretty similar.
