Texas Tech has received their 7th commit for the 2016 class, the 2nd commit in as many days, the other being WR Antoine Cox-Wesley, as quarterback Jett Duffey from Lake Ridge High School in Mansfield , Texas, has committed to Texas Tech. We took a look at Duffey just yesterday and it took all of one day for Duffey to commit to the good guys. Duffey is 6’1″ and weighs 175 pounds and he’s got a cannon for an arm and legs that don’t stop.
This is an important commit for head coach Kliff Kingsbury as he has offered and been turned down on a couple of occasions. You would guess that Duffey will be the only quarterback for the 2016 class. Duffey had an excellent junior year and has done really well at the Elite 11 camps, making the finals earlier this month, which has put him on the radar for a lot more programs. To be honest, I absolutely love his film and his speed. If he can put on a few pounds, he’s going to be ridiculously tough to stop for opposing defenses.
We’ll have a full profile on Duffey later today or first thing in the morning.
