Last week, Texas Tech secured the commitment of an unrated, unrated around the board, offensive lineman from Coronado, Emoree Giddens. Were getting caught up and we’ve found what we can and discuss below.

The Player Speaks: Wreck’Em 24/7’s Daniel Paulling talked to Giddens and said that it was a dream to play so close to home:
“It’s at home, where my parents could come watch me,” Giddens said. “I’ve grown up watching Tech, and I didn’t want to wait too long and that scholarship not be there. I like Tech as a school.”
Scouting Report: For the first bit of video, I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to watch. The first bit of highlights, I couldn’t tell who I was supposed to watch. The video that I embedded above, I think you need to be watching the left tackle. I think that’s Giddens. He’s light. Really light, and I think he’s got a good frame, but he’s got a lot of work to do. Giddens is a basketball guy and I really like that part. He’s athletic enough to be an integral part of the team, but I’m going to hold off on much more of an evaluation until I get some better video.
I don’t normally do this, but with Giddens, I feel like I need a bit more to go off of. I usually don’t have a problem with some video, but I don’t think I have enough to give an informed opinion. I think that’s the proper course of action here. There’s no doubt that Giddens is an athlete, playing tight end for Coronado, and playing basketball as well.
Emoree, welcome to Texas Tech and Git Your Guns Up!
