* Quick programming note. I’ll have a full post on Matias Dominguez and how to watch him starting today going up later this morning.
Baseball Loses to ORU. The Red Raiders fall to Oral Roberts 5-4 yesterday afternoon (recap) and this was a pretty disappointing game as Texas Tech was out in front for most of the game until ORU comes back in the 8th inning. Quinn Carpenter pitched 4.1 innings, allowing 2 runs, walking 4 and striking out 3 — and he also batted and hit a home run, his 2nd of the year. Dominic Moreno pitched 2.2 innings in relief, allowing 4 hits, 1 run, a walk and a strikeout. Matt Custred takes the loss as he allowed a double in the 8th, then walked a batter and then another double scoring the two players left on base.
Tyler Neslony was pretty good today, going 3-5 with an RBI and Eric Gutierrez went 2-4 with an RBI as well.
Lady Raiders Add Another Indiana Transfer. Texas Tech will add yet another transfer from Indiana in Larryn Brooks, a 5-5 sophomore guard who averaged 14.3 points a game. Brooks will need to sit out the 2015 season.
New Campus Photos. From friend of the blog, Totally Texas Tech, we have some new photos of all of the colors from spring on the campus.
Hard not to root for guys like Billy Gillispie, Dave Bliss. Nope.
MBB Season Review. DMN’s Tommy Magelssen has his season review of Texas Tech’s season
Men’s and Women’s Tennis Excelling. Congrats to the women’s tennis team who have climbed all the way to a #15 national ranking, which is the highest ranking in program history! Another congrats to Sarah Dvorak who was named the Big 12 women’s tennis player of the week! And the men’s team is who are ranked #23 and made the top 25 for the 4th straight week in a row.
Student Athlete Spotlight on Pledger. Nice write-up from the Big 12 site on Le’Tristan Pledger who runs the hurdles for Texas Tech and the triple jump.
