Texas Tech’s Matias Dominguez is set to compete in the Masters, and he may be the very first current Texas Tech student to compete in the Masters. We’ve got tee times for the par 3 contest today, his Thursday and Friday rounds and other links to follow along.
First up, check out Matias in his first Masters diary where he gives a tour of the Crow’s Nest:

Dominguez also noted that he’s not too nervous and that he feels like he’s well prepared:
“Surprisingly, I’m really calm,” he said Monday. “But I know down the road here in one or two days, I’m going to get a little more excited. But I’m really looking forward to play good golf, because I’ve been preparing really well and really confident on what I’ve been doing.”
Details:
- Wednesday: Matias will tee off at 4:12 ET with Rich Beem and Jimmy Walker in the Par 3 Contest. Live streaming can be found at Masters.com.
- Thursday & Friday: Matias will be teeing off at 12:20 ET in Group 24 with Angel Cabrera (a fellow South American) and Louis Oosthuizen.
- Television: Coverage will be on ESPN and CBS.
- Bio: Check out Matias’ bio at the Masters. I’m guessing that this bio page will be updated with Matias’ scores through the tournament.
Congrats to Matias! Wreck’Em!
