Texas Tech fought hard and came up short, but did way better than we could of ever expected… Wreck ’em Tech! Let’s get ready for the Big 12 tourney! Guns Up!
Player of the Game | Devaugntah Williams went off for 28 points, he hit 8-9 from downtown. D-Will has been hot and cold all season, but tonight he went off… we need him to do this for our chance to win in the Big 12 tournament first round.
Stat of the Game | The Red Raiders beat Baylor in just about every stat… rebounds we won 27-25 and assists we won 22-17… the downtown shots we beat the Bears 10-19 (53%) compared to 9-20 (45%). Here we go again; they shot 18-24 (75%) from the free throw line… we shot 8-19 (42%) from the charity stripe.
How the Game was Lost |I actually thought when Zach Smith flushed the ball with 14:00 minutes left in the game and Tech went up 48-37, we had a great chance to pull off the upset. We let them take us over, and they wanted to win more than us.
Turning Point | Tech had a lead 51-39 against the Bears… momentum was with the Red Raiders. The Bears keep coming back. Royce O’Neale made a Three Point Jumper and it was over under 2 minutes left.
Team Observations | At the half Tech was winning 33-32, and our team was told all week that Baylor was going to beat our nose in. We straightened that talk real quick. The game went back and forth, but Baylor showed us who was in control for the last 8 minutes of the game.
